The Best Resource for Aspiring Authors

{By Ellery Sadler}

Is there a better way for writers to get their books published?

As an author, have you ever wondered if there is a better option than the somewhat risky, stigma-surrounded self-publishing or the painful process and unlikelihood of traditional publishing? I have.

I thought about self-publishing, but there is so much work that goes into that and so much money needed up-front if you’re trying to make it actually look professional. Plus, most people are pretty wary of self-publishing, and while some people make it look easy, the reality is that most self-published authors drift under the radar making little or no profit.

And I’ve thought about traditional publishing. But after receiving rejection letter after rejection letter, I’ve gotten disillusioned with the whole process. Especially when you hear stories about authors who’ve been rejected dozens of times, only to later become best-sellers. The whole thing is so subjective and so random. (And as a writer, haven’t you picked up a book, read it, and been like ‘Wow, I could totally write a better book than that.’ And then when you do, wonder why it doesn’t get published?)

To be honest, I’m tired of the system. It isn’t made for writers. It isn’t for the crazy ones or the dreamers or the people who want to step outside the box.

For a writer, the idea of holding your book – your work of art, your masterpiece, your baby – in your hands, having an audience to read your book, seeing your work materialize, is a dream that reality tells us most of us will never see come to fruition.

But there is a better way. A new way. The best way for a writer to get published.

Author Mary DeMuth (who successfully crowdfunded her book, raising more than $25,000) and crowdfunding coach Thomas Umstatt are creating a course to walk you through the process of crowdfunding your book.

Their Crowdfunding Course for Authors gives you 7 awesome sessions:

1. How to Build a Tribe – 7 Crowd Building Steps Authors Must Take Before Launching Their Campaign

2. 4 Campaign Secrets of Successful Crowdfunding Authors

3. Sweet Rewards – Proven Strategies for Realistic Funding Goals and Enticing Rewards

4. Producing a WOW Video – How to Create a Captivating Video on Any Budget

5. Kickstarter vs. Indiegogo – How to Determine Which Platform is Best for You

6. Getting to 100% – Promotion Principles of Successfully Funded Books

7. Beyond 100% – Stretch Goal Strategies of Highly Successful Campaigns

I think this is a fantastic idea for authors who are just tired of playing the game and following the ‘rules’ of the system. If you’re disillusioned like I am with traditional publishing’s lack of enthusiasm for new ideas or the risk and stigma around self-publishing, I think crowdfunding might be the writer’s newest, biggest breakthrough.

I can’t wait for this to come out y’all!! If you’d like to learn more or back The Ultimate Crowdfunding Course for Author’s crowdfunding campaign, click here.
